    That's what she said
    Good "That's what she said" : In history class Dr. Cohen was talking about a book called "Ragged Dick."

    In other news I can't believe (or actually I can) believe that Barry Manilow is making a "Greatest Hits of the '80s" CD. He has an entire ten years worth of songs yet he manages to choose the twelve cheesiest and as a rule, Barry Manilow adds cheese to everything and his rendition of "Never Gonna Give You Up" makes me shudder. His rendition of "Open Arms" is much more cheesy than that of Journey (if that's even possible.) Journey at least makes it sound like a good guilty pleasure song, Barry Manilow puts entirely too much sugar on it and would make Nina retch uncontrollably over rainbows and butterflies.

    It would be hilarious if Barry Manilow tried to cover Iron Maiden.

    Who concert
     Kitty and I went to the Who concert on Friday. It was amazing. They were all wearing sailor suits and Pete was as energetic as ever. They performed most of my favorites (My Generation, Love Reign over Me, Pinball Wizard, Who Are You, Behind Blue Eyes, Won't Get Fooled Again) they also performed songs I hadn't heard before that I really like. Here's the complete list. I was sad that they didn't play subsitute or A quick one while he's away. The light show/ screen show was fantastic. It was just a fabulous concert in general.

    fan fic part 2 Mick comes into the picture
     A few months passed and Bowie and Mercury's relationship blossomed. They became regulars at Java Junction and went to many concerts together but they were never public about the relationship on account of all the AIDS myths and attitudes towards AIDS (people were much more ignorant about the disease then.) The relationship inspired Bowie and Queen to release many of their greatest hits including Queen's "It's a Kind of Magic," and Bowie's "China Girl" (inside joke) Rick took many notes of their conversations in his notebook; listening assiduously to the conversation that was poetic enough to be credible but cheesy enough to sell. One of his favorites was when Bowie said to Freddy; gazing intently into his dark eyes "together forever and never to part" Freddy responded "Don't you know I would move heaven and earth to be together forever with you."
    Everything seemed to be perfect, the two musical greats seemed destined for one another. However, David was filming his new music video, Dancing in the Streets, with Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger, who, though not remotely gorgeous. at least somewhat resembled a human being back in '80...physically. Although Mick was completely straight, Bowie was still attracted to the wild energy that Mick emitted. It was similar to Freddy's passion and enthusiasm but had slightly more of a dangerous edge that Bowie found kind of...sexy.
    David Bowie flirted with him throughout the fliming and once got so close to him that they almost kissed. Of course this whole time Freddy felt jealous and vented his frustration through his song 'I Want To Break Free.' which lost him many fans in the homophobic intolerant United States of America. (Republican in office.)
    One day at Java Junction, Bowie finally picked up on Freddy's jealousy. "We've known each other for so long. Your heart's been aching but you're too shy to say it." Freddy responded cooly "We know the game and we're gonna play it. Oh by the way, if you bother to ask me how I'm feeling; don't tell me you're too blind to see." "Why are you in such a stroop with me love?" asked Bowie. Freddy looked at him incredulously "don't you even start me up with  that" he replied snottily. "Mick's straight darling" replied Bowie reassuringly. "Oh please, everyone's gay for David Bowie" replied Freddy "Oh and you can wipe that smug look off your face. You shouldn't be so proud of the fact that you can't keep it in your pants. You're an embarrassment to the GLBT community the way you just conform to the bisexual stereotype, like you just can't help yourself." "Oh, and your tight pants and mini skirts are completely square." replied Bowie angrilly. "There's nothing going on with me and Mick you're just being a drama queen." Freddy snorts and coughs the word "bullshit" into his hand. "Well remember to leave a tip!" he shouted as he rushed out in a huff; slamming the door in a rage. "Now there's a great song title" thought Rick "Remember to Leave a Tip"

    Queen/Bowie fan fiction or how Rick Astley wrote all his songs
     At camp Kitty and I thought that Freddy Mercury and David Bowie would make the most amazing couple so we wrote a fan fiction. I will record it here. (This takes place in the 1980s btw)

    As you all know, Queen and Bowie recorded the hit song Under Pressure together.  Freddy and David always had a slight crush on each other (they're actually both bi in real life by the way. yay bi guys!!!!!!!!) One day while they were recording their eyes met. They kept looking away, blushing but they kept looking at each other while the other looked away. So  Brian May's amp suddenly became unplugged and Freddy and David both knelt down to fix it and their hands brushed. After the recording session, David says to Freddy "I know a coffee place nearby, want to come?" Freddy, enthusiastically agreeing accompanied David to Java Junction, a well known gay coffee place. Freddy couldn't believe his eyes. Every gay celebrity from George Michael to Boy George  happily sipped coffee and ate croissants that look suspiciously like penises (the owner claims it is a coincidence.) The rainbow walls and waiters with tight pants added the icing to the cake of the hip, fun, flamboyant atmosphere. Freddy and David sat by the window and ordered the special (espresso with Mexican jumping beans.) David took Freddy's hands and looked deep into his eyes. "We're no strangers to love; you know the rules and so do I. A full commitment's what I'm thinking of; you wouldn't get this from any other guy." A sixteen year old English waiter named Rick Astley happened to pass their table. He wanted a career in the music business but didn't know how to write songs. He found Bowie's words poetic so he wrote them down. "This might even be a number one hit" he thought. He listened so intently he didn't pay attention to his irate, impatient customers.
    "I just want to tell you how I'm feeling. Gotta make you understand" cried Freddy passionately.
    Bowie replied; "If we ever were to get married, I would vow never to give you up, never to let you down, never to run around or desert you, never to make you cry, never to say goodbye, never to tell a lie and hurt you"
    Stroking Freddy's face, David leaned close and kissed him.. All the words and all the music in the world could not even begin to describe the sensational joy and elation that either felt. A wide range of raw, unknown emotions coursing through their bodies, both knew that this was the beginning of something beautiful.
    To Be continued... will Mick Jagger get in the way? Will Rick Astley ever get a big break? what are the croissants really shaped like? find out in part 2 Dancing Through the Streets Under Pressure

    fun weekend
    So just at the hospital. I honestly wonder why they don't bother to make the rooms more cheerful when patients have to live there every day. ON the plus side, if all goes well, my grandfather is scheduled to come home on Wednesday. I could tell that 7 weeks in the hospital really wore him down but nothing can conquer his fiery spirit. In fact, we had a bunch of intense Spinner family discussions about subjects such as dark matter, Herbert Hoover, and the economy. I was finally able to argue against my uncle JOhnny  who argues with everybody about everything. (Something Fourish knows very well.) I love how even when we all agree, we're all arguing. Even though my once vibrant, active, grandfather can now barely walk, I can tell the sickness hasn't conquered him. In fact, he has some pretty animated poolitical conversations with the nurses. I really hope he goes home soon and I know that he will come out on top. My grandmother on the other hand is a nervous wreck. She tries to hide it but I can tell by the way she keeps grabbing on to me. WEll at least all his hair has grown back. I just can't wait to be home at this point

    Mr. Kennedy must die a slow painful death
    My English teacher is a pedantic, vain, asshole. In fact, Carly Simon definitely wrote "You're So Vain" about him. If not, I bet he thinks it's about him every time he hears it (and sings it off key) I like hard teachers, don't get me wrong but I like hard teachers who, I don't know -ACTUALLY TEACH. He tells us we are bad writers but he hasn't given anything back yet and did not give us any feedback on how to improve. He thinks we can read his mind (that would be very useful actually.) I'm pretty sure he likes me but he hates my friend Antoine. He also hates my friend Noa and no teacher in the history of the world has ever hated Noa. I also can't stand English teachers who believe that their opinion is the only right opinion and that everyone else's interpretation is wrong. If that's his world view he should teach a more narrow subject like math. However he can't teach math because he is "a lover of words and wants to use them delicately." I'm just PO'd right now because we have an in class essay tomorrow and I don't know how to prepare. Hopefully it won't go too badly.

    Full movie plot
     Here's the full plot of the movie. I would like to thank Mr. Weintraub, Reuben, Matt Hill, and Jefferson Airplane for all their help and support.
    It's the year 3000 and Billy Ray Cyrus (Willy J. Citrus to avoid a law suit) used his daughter (Riley's ) army to take over the world. In order to create a wholesome world, all controversy has been removed from music and therefore all depth and creativity. Instruments have been banned and outlawed. Riley Citrus and the Bonas Brothers (Reuben interpreted this band name in a very perverted manner)  are the only forms of musical entertainment and attendance at their concerts is mandatory. One girl named Pam is a discontented outcast and she finds the ghosts of John Lennon, Pete Townshend, Freddy Mercury, and Ringo Starr in her closet and together they form a band called "Who's The Beatle Queen" However, Pam meets a boy named Adam and he introduces her to McGangsta, a rapper whose music is vulgar yet meaningless. All the people who feel rebellious like Pam come to his concerts. What they don't know is that the government hired him to keep the rebels under control (people fail to notice the telltale signs such as the Louis Vuitton gun holsters.) Pam and Adam develop a romantic relationship as Pam becomes a big fan of McGangsta. She fights with the ghosts over the merit of McGangsta and breaks away from the band. As she escapes, she comes to a death camp where all people who defy the Vogue standard of beauty and teenage mothers  are sent. She is soon captured by Willy J. Citrus and discovers that McGangsta betrayed her. Adam runs away and deserts Pam out of fright. Pam wakes up in the Citrus mansion and finds herself in a library full of censored media including the movie Finding Nemo. Willy J. Citrus explains to her the "evils" of rock music and shows her the video of Queen's "I Want To Break Free" to prove his point. (For those of you who are unfamiliar with the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hMrY8jysdg) He then shows Pam that the emotions in music encourage selfishness and shows Pam the sacrifice her parents made for her that she never appreciated. Pam sees the scene of the day she is born. Now in this society, babies who cry loudly are sent to a home for emotionally disturbed children because expression of emotions  other than happiness is believed to be detrimental to society. When the nurse hears Pam cry, she runs back into the birthing room and Pam's father tells her that he was listening to the new Riley Citrus album which is loud and screechy in order to protect her. When Pam is two, the government finds out about this and her parents lose their jobs and are ostracized and harassed daily. Their status improves slightly when Pam's sister turns out to be an ideal member of the society but not much. Pam's obliviousness to the situation and refusal to conform burden her parents and after seeing the scenes Pam is convinced that she's a selfish person and tries to conform to society. Some time has passed and Pam follows the rules and seems relatively content but one night she has a dream where a white rabbit takes her through a rainbow time vortex to Woodstock in the sixties, the punk rock era of the seventies, the eighties, and Nirvana in the nineties. Then she goes to the year 2008 where she witnesses Willy J. and Riley taking over the world. She sees the brutal murders of musicians and large numbers of undesirables sent to death camps (including the acapella groups who rebel after the decree against musical instruments) She sees people fighting who end up murdered. She sees the ghost try to assist in rebellions that end in failure and after several attempts, agree to lay low until the government feels secure in its power but they also had trouble finding the right person for the rebellion (no knowledge of Mc Gangsta=more impressionable and open) until Pam. Pam wakes up and realizes that the war she's fighting is bigger than she is and that is her responsibility to fight so the rebels would not have died in vain. She runs back to the Citrus mansion where she fights Willy J.s army. she is brutally outnumered until she is joined by an army of ghosts (including the ones in her closet, Bob Marley, and Jimmy Hendrix) She ends up in an ultimate show down with her sister Becky (who was the one who "betrayed") her to Willy J. Citrus. The rest of the army falls down in a puff of pot from Bob Marley. Willy J. admits he was using Becky as a pawn and makes Pam choose between her life or Becky's. Pam chooses Becky out of family responsibility and is about to die when Riley Citrus comes in the room and when she hugs her father, she discovers he is a robot as he falls down and rusts. She screams and helps Pam and Becky escape. Because RC has spent time out of her age preserver she turns 1008 years old (her real age) and dies. Pam and Becky reconcile and sneak through the back door of a crowded stadium where screaming fans are waiting for Riley. Pam and Bob Marley come on stage with the rest of "Who's The Beatle Queen" and Pam and Bob sing a duet of "Redemption Song." They captivate the audience who ask for another song. (something other than RC is a nice change) Then Pam sings the song she wrote herself and when she plays her guitar solo the people are officially liberated through her music and their chant of 'Who's The Beatle Queen!" resounds through the closing credits.
    What about Adam? that's the one loose end I chose not to tie. It didn't seem worth it to me b/c I didn't want the love story to conflict with the plot but rather enhance it. some people will be PO'd but oh well.  Can't wait to start filming once i've finished the script (already on page 38)

    If Pretty in PInk were made today...
     I just saw Pretty in Pink for the first time last night and I was just thinking that it would be radically different if it were made in 2008 as oppose to 1985. For one think, Andy would end up with Ducky. The audience today would be very pissed off if Andy ended up with the cute rich guy instead of the cool guy who really loves her. The prom dresses would be waaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy less poufy. The zoids would also be METCO kids or some equivalent and they would be black or latino. Andy may possibly be black. There would be some similarities though. (James Spader=Ben Seifer)  The Cinderella theme and the theme of an intelligent have-not coming out on top would still be in the movie. The thing about John Hughes movies is that the basic plot and themes relate to teenagers of any generation but there are many elements that are very unique to the eighties.

    Jefferson Airplane
     So my new obsession is this band Jefferson Airplane. They're one of these sixties psychedelic bands and as I said on my facebook status, just listening to their music took me on an acid trip.  The two songs I'm obsessed with are "White Rabbit," and "Somebody To Love."  All of their songs are actually blatantly about drugs and their lyrics definitely show it but they sound poetic. Lyrics to White Rabbit
    One pill makes you larger
    And one pill makes you small
    And the ones that mother gives you
    Don't do anything at all
    Go ask Alice
    When she's ten feet tall

    And if you go chasing rabbits
    And you know you're going to fall
    Tell 'em a hookah smoking caterpillar
    Has given you the call
    Call Alice
    When she was just small

    When men on the chessboard
    Get up and tell you where to go
    And you've just had some kind of mushroom
    And your mind is moving low
    Go ask Alice
    I think she'll know

    When logic and proportion
    Have fallen sloppy dead
    And the White Knight is talking backwards
    And the Red Queen's "off with her head!"
    Remember what the dormouse said:
    "Feed your head
    Feed your head
    Feed your head"
    The white rabbit helped me think of a cool scene which is an important plot point and bridges some important gaps.

    Happy New Year Everyone
    For some reason that I can't put my finger on, I felt kind of depressed in english and ceramics. What made me more depressed was that I couldn't figure why I was feeling the way I was feeling when everything in my life is going so great. Then I felt a lot better after wellness. As the immortal Elle Woods said in Legally Blonde "Exercise gives you endorphins, endorphins make you happy, happy people just don't shoot their husbands" (I don't have/want a husband  at this point and I'm not feeling homicidal but you get the basic idea.) On the positive side, I just got into Death Note and I'm loving it and I got a lot of work done on my script yesterday. For those of you who don't already know the plot, I'll explain in an entry after I finished it. I added a new plot point and worked out a bunch of kinks in the dialogue. My movie does have a pretty kick ass sound track. Here are the songs so far

    1. Radio Ga-Ga-Queen
    2. Behind Blue Eyes-The Who
    3. Who Are You-The Who
    4. Bohemian Rhapsody-Queen
    5. Don't Stop Me Now-Queen
    6. Sounds of Silence-Simon and Garfunkel
    7. Ass-Fucking Riley Citrus-McGangsta (a song composed for the move. Hopefully Rick Astley will play this role. It's not a good song but it makes sense once you know the context)
    8 Here I Go Again-Whitesnake
    9. Redemption Song-Bob Marley
    There will be more but I need to finish writing the script. Too much Queen maybe?

     A lot has happened in these 2 weeks. You know that Reuben person I mentioned (well several of my friends do but anyway) We're actually an item now and actually yesterday was our 2 week anniversary (I know, long time right) It's been really amazing so far. We've been on two dates, one to see a movie and another to sign up for an anime convention (I'm going as Starfire btw) We've gotten to know each other very well if you know what I mean. (still too early to be biblical) I have high hopes for this relationship :) He's everything I ever wanted in a bf

    Star Wars vs. Harry Potter
     I've noticed that every Star Wars character has a Harry Potter counter part and vice versa. At least every major character
    Here are the comparissons.

    Harry=Luke
    Hermione=Leah
    Dumbledore=Yoda
    Snape=Darth Vader
    Voldemort= Palpatine
    Sirius= Obi Wan Kenobi
    Malfoy=Jabba the hut
    The death eaters=storm troopers
     I don't have any one for Ginny or Chewy yet but i'm sure there's some comparrison

    Hi, I'm back, the play was funny (and it was not beauty and the beast) It was called 25th annual spelling bee. I know it sounds like a snore but it was actually quite amusing and entertaining. I can't really explain it, you have to see it to get it.You kind of have to be there. My kindly uncle sadly did not come to the play. LOL it's a joke between us but he really is kindly.)
